Backwords is a pass-and-play party game for one iPhone. Record a two or three word phrase and the app plays it backwards. The next player mimics what they hear, flips their mimic around, and guesses the original out loud — while the clock eats their score. Then you swap.

No typing, no reading, no screens to stare at. The whole game is your voice, a record pad, and a phone that gets handed back and forth.
1. Say it
Hold the pad and say a short phrase — your own, or one from a phrase pack. Release to stop. Re-record until it sounds right, then hand the phone over.
2. Flip it
Backwords plays your phrase backwards. The guesser listens as many times as they need, loops the tricky bit, and records their best mimic of the noise they just heard.
3. Guess it
Their mimic gets flipped back around. If it sounds like your phrase, they shout their guess and you judge it. Right locks in the score. Wrong costs points and the clock keeps running.

The toy at the heart of the game. Hold to record, let go, and hear yourself backwards. No players, no rounds, no score — just you and whatever you feel like saying. Always free, always unlimited.
Timed games, two to eight players
Add players, pick how many rounds, and pass the phone. Everyone authors once and guesses once per round. Scores add up across the game and the scoreboard settles it at the end.
The clock decides
Every guess starts at 1000 points and drains while the guesser listens, mimics, and works up the nerve. Wrong guesses cost extra. Haptics tick faster as the number falls, so the pressure is something you feel in your hand.
Phrase packs
Stuck for something to say? The General pack ships with 200 phrases picked to sound great backwards. Ten more themed packs — Movies & TV, Music, Sports, Superheroes, Decades, National Parks, Theme Parks, Automobiles, Instruments, and Around the World — are a tap away.

All-time standings across every game: wins, points, accuracy, and the fastest guesses on record. Replay any half-round from history, and heart the clips that were too good to lose.
