About

Steve JoslinPercussionist, new media artist, founder

Oregon Code & Design is a one-person studio exploring the seams between rhythm, code, visual art, and sound design — from performance and composition to the software itself.

Steve is a percussionist who performs and composes across algorithmic, electronic, and progressive rock. His creative practice blends music with visual art — real-time generated animation and effects driven by performance. In Colour Obscura, custom software turns iPhone-generated color into music and visuals at once.

He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in the Performance of Data-driven Instruments from the University of Oregon, with earlier degrees in Media Arts and Performing Arts Technology from the University of Michigan. OCD is where that practice meets shipping software: each product starts with a real problem a working musician actually has, and ends only when the tool feels obvious.
